Industrial Commercial Pumping

If you own or maintain a car wash, you know how much dirt is involved. All of the debris that gets washed off of your customers’s vehicles collects in your car wash’s bay traps or grit traps.

Austin Incorporated’s Industrial Commercial Pumping capabilities can help you maintain your car wash pit. We are legally registered transporters with the right equipment to quickly pump, transport, and dispose of the water waste sludge your car wash grit traps filter out.

We are available for both emergency car wash trap cleaning and regular maintenance.

Grit Traps and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency regulates Water, Solid and Industrial Waste pumping, transportation, and disposal.

If car wash sand and grit traps are not regularly pumped out, they will overflow and clog city sewers, an issue that could potentially cost tens of thousands of dollars to resolve.

Car Wash Grit Trap

Car wash bay traps typically use two chambers to separate oily sludge and solid wastes from water. Waste water from a car wash is first collected a primary chamber where solids waste sinks to the bottom and liquid chemicals rise to the top.

A fixed crossover pipe the chamber wall allows cleaned water to flow to a second chamber, where gravity separates remaining sludge from the water. This water flows through an outlet pipe to the sewer system. If your car was grit trap becomes full, these pipes become clogged, and your system fails.
